Community & Connections

It was so nice to see so many of you today at our annual Fall Festival. Thank you to our home & school leaders, volunteers, and community sponsors. King David knew how important it was to fellowship and spend time together. He reminds us of the power of community and connections: "How good and how pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1. ECA’s Fall Festival is a reminder of what a joy it is to be part of God’s family!

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. - 1 John 3:1,2

Hot Lunch Returns!

ECA’s hot lunch will resume this week and into the month. Stay tuned for the updated menu. This week’s menu is Monday - Lasagna, Wednesday - Grilled Cheese, and Friday - Pizza.

Ag Class This Week.

This week, our AG class will be grades K-2. As you start to plan, remember that rubber boots and gloves are appropriate materials for AG Class. We do have racks for keeping boots safe. Labeling items with names helps keep things organized and safe!

Fall Classes

October 6 - Grades K-2

October 13 - Grades 7&8

October 20 - Grades 5&6

October 27 - Grades 3&4

Fall MAP Testing starts this week!

During the first week of October we will carry out our first session of yearly testing. Here is a little more information about the program:

Students in grades K-8, will have three days of testing in the morning hours. Students in grades K-4 will test from 8:30-10:30. Students in grades 5-8 will test from 10:30-12:30. You can help us this week by ensuring your child has plenty of rest, a solid breakfast, and is at school during our testing days.

We will also have a makeup testing period on Thursday, October 9 in the middle of the day for students who may have missed a day or still need to finish a test. This first testing session will be one of three testing sessions we will use this year. We also do testing in January and late April. Home & School will be providing healthy snacks during each of the three days to keep energy and minds working. Thank you again Home & School.

Week of Prayer at ECA

This week, we welcome Pastor Jim Boram from the Cottage Grove SDA Church. He will be spending the afternoons with our students for 45 minutes from 1:15-200 for grades 5-8 and 2:00-2:45 for grades K-4. We look forward to hearing the good news!

Upcoming K-4 Field Trips

Students in grades K-4 have two upcoming field trips. On Wednesday, October 15, students will be going to Dorris Ranch. On Monday, October 20, students will be going to Johnson Farms for a Fall pumpkin patch visit.

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
