Embracing Community

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

A Special Thank You to All of Our Volunteers at the Fall Festival

Our first weekend of October is always a treat. It was so nice to spend time with so many of you. Thank you to our great leaders at Home & School and thank you to the many families and community members that volunteered time and energy to make our Fall Festival a great time for everyone.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” - Psalm 133:1

Just a Reminder - No School Tomorrow, Monday, October 5

Our teachers have four days throughout the year when they participate in professional growth. These days happen in October, November, February, and April. These PLC days happen during our Friday 1/2 day chapel weeks. We will have regular school hours Tuesday through Thursday, followed by our regular 1/2 day Friday during those weeks.

What is Professional Growth for Teachers? What Does It Look Like?

ECA has a mission that students and families love God, value learning, and serve others. As professionals, we work purposefully to bring clarity in instruction and communication. SBL, or standards-based learning is a tool that can help us reach these goals. Here are some questions we work through as we continue to grow as educators:

1/2 Friday this Week

Students will have four days of school this week from Tuesday through Friday. This Friday we will have our morning chapel recognizing our growth mindset for citizenship for the month. Just a reminder that pickup on Friday will be at 12:30 and we do not have after-school on Fridays.

New Month & Hot Lunch Menu

Here is the menu for this month’s hot lunch. Meals for students in grades 1-2 are $5. For students in grades 3-8, meals are $6. Meals can be ordered and charged to your credit card that is on file. You can click on the hot lunch order link in the weekly newsletter, or can be ordered through the website in the student life tab.

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
