Awake & Welcoming the Sunshine
At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.
Awake after a Sleepy Winter
We are full into spring. Whether it’s allergies to pollen, or starting to keep a wary eye on all the bees beginning to fly around, it’s nice to welcome warm weather again. The Willamette Valley is widely recognized as the "grass seed capital of the world". The region, particularly around Linn County, produces over 90% of the cool-season grass seed used in the United States and a significant portion of the global supply, yielding over 600–700 million pounds annually. It is also exciting to see the hard work of our students over the winter months as our gardens are starting to bloom and blossom. God is in control of the seasons, and God is in control of our lives.
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” - 1 Corinthians 3:7
Front Office Back This Week
Thank you for your patience as we have worked to fill our front office position. This week, Luminita Butler will join our school family probably on Tuesday or Wednesday. We are excited to have her join our staff. She will be joining us in a part-time position filling our morning hours from 8:00-12:30. The office will be unstaffed from 1:00-2:45. The principal will be in the office from 12:30 until 1:00 and 2:45-4:00 in the afternoons. If you get a chance, stop by the office in the morning and introduce yourself.
P/T Conferences This Week - 1/2 Day Thursday
This Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24 will have scheduled conference times. You can schedule your conference times using the link to the Google Document below. This is a shared document for all of our families, so please add your times with care. There was an initial problem with permission / rights for signing up at first. That has been corrected and you should be able to sign up by following the link below. Please call the office or send an email to office@emeraldchristianacademy.com and we will get you up and going.
Please note: Because we have P/T Conferences planned for Thursday starting shortly after school is over at 12:30, there will be no after-school on Thursday and Thursday will be a 12:30 pickup. Thank you for your understanding as we give teachers time to prepare with last minute details for the conferences.
AG Program - Monday’s Science Class
On Monday, our AG Class will be for grades K-2. Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Monday, April 20 - Grades K-2
Monday, April 27 - Grades 7&8
Hot Lunch for the Month
Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:
The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.
We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
