A Picture of God

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

Beyond the Paint…

If you have been to an art museum, or watched media presentations on famous artists throughout time, many names will come to mind: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Rembrandt. For our students who visit Washington D.C. on our middle school educational tour to Washington D.C., they experience generations of paintings in the National Gallery of Art. All of the artists above painted images of Jesus. So what does God look like? The Bible is a little vague about what God looks like. His majesty and greatness are shared with us through our own understanding of what it means to human. For me, I am comforted knowing that the creator of the universe knows and recognizes me. More than that, he wants to spend eternity with his believers.

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." - John 17:3

Picture Day - Tomorrow, Monday, October 26

Three weeks ago, your child brought home a packet for ordering pictures. We will be having a studio come and visit our school on Monday, October 26. If you would like to order pictures, that can be done online by following the information in the picture packet. Even if you do not order pictures, we will still be taking pictures of all students for our yearbook. The photo studio will be arriving at 8:30.

Eat the Rainbow - AG Challenge Begins this Week

Here is a letter from our Ag co-coordinator, Connie Dunks, to explain this year’s healthy eating program.

Dear Parents,

During this 2027 school year, the Ag program is excited to share the concept of eating fruits and vegetables from all colors of the rainbow with our ECA students. Our goal is to teach them the different nutrients from each color and how these nutrients nourish their bodies. To build excitement around this rainbow concept, we are beginning the the “Rainbow Challenge”. Beginning October 26, the students will be given a chart to take home to track the days that they eat 5 colors of the rainbow over the next week. There will be prizes for eating the rainbow!

The 5 colors are:

YELLOW

ORANGE

RED

GREEN

BLUE/PURPLE

Yours,

Connie Dunks

Annual School Inspections

ECA is an accredited, private school. One of the many things that we do to maintain our accreditation is to complete annual inspections and maintain physical plant records. Every month, ECA inspects our water pH and alkalinity levels and reports to Lane County. Additionally, we maintain records on asbestos and campus physical plant inspections. If you would like to see these records, you are able to request them from our front office. This is one process of several involved in our current six-year accreditation period.

Hot Lunch Menu

Here is the menu for this month’s hot lunch. Meals for students in grades 1-2 are $5. For students in grades 3-8, meals are $6. Meals can be ordered and charged to your credit card that is on file. You can click on the hot lunch order link in the weekly newsletter, or can be ordered through the website in the student life tab.

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
