Are You Feeling Taxed?

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

According to information released by the IRS and the US Census Bureau, families in the USA definitely pay their fair share in taxes.

We are familiar with the term “tax” but its important to remember Webster has a second definition:

v. make heavy demands on (someone's powers or resources).

"she knew that the ordeal to come would tax all her strength"

There may be no solution for paying our fair share of taxes, but there is a solution for the taxing demands that are put on us in our daily lives. The Bible reminds us that we can conquer all things with God, our source of unlimited strength. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9.

P/T Conferences Next Thursday & Friday, April 25-26

Plan now for next week’s P/T conferences by calling our school office to set up appointment times for your child. Because we are needing to schedule times for all of our familes for P/T conferences, next Thursday, April 25, will be a 1/2 day. School will be let out at at 12:30. We will NOT be having an afterschool program on that day. P/T conferences will then begin at 2:00 and go into the evening. Conferences will resume the next day, Friday. If either of these days do not work for you, please contact your homeroom teacher to schedule a time.

If you still need to schedule a time, you can also call the office before 12:30 on Thursday, April 25 to sign up. Slots are first come, first served, so call sooner rather than later.

Again, here is a reminder about the times and conferences:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
