Happy Mother's Day
At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.
ECA wishes every mother and grandmother a special Mother’s Day. Each day we are blessed with your children as they share kindness and love. Thank you for nurturing our children and sharing God’s love and blessings with them. Christian education is a powerful part of raising children who love God and are ready to tackle the world. Families are another big part of that equation and mothers have a special place in that mission. This past Friday, students went around our community and delivered flowers and notes to our neighbors wishing them a happy spring and celebrating this special weekend with them. Although we can’t send flowers to every mother in our community, we definitely send our appreciation for everything you do.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.
Proverbs 31:26-29
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Every May, ECA holds an annual constituency meeting for church members that support our school. Our school operates under a church-appointed school board and works with our local state OR Conference of SDA. This meeting will share our plans for staffing, budget, and school calendar for the upcoming year. Our school board makes recommendations for the upcoming year. Constituents can vote for approval at this meeting. Visitors are also welcome to come. As part of our school family, parents are welcome to come to this meeting as non-voting visitors. This meeting will be this Thursday, May 15 at the ECA Gym. The program will begin at 7:00 pm.
The Rainbow Challenge is Ending…
Here is a letter from our sponsor and coordinator of this year’s healthy eating program, Connie Dunks. This letter is also going home with your child in paper form with a phone number to call if you have any questions:
Dear Parents,
During the last couple of months the Ag School has presented to the students at ECA the concept of eating fruits and vegetables from all colors of the rainbow. Our goal was to teach them the different nutrients from each color and how these nutrients nourish their bodies. To build excitement around this rainbow concept, we have announced to the students the “Rainbow Challenge”. On May 5, the students will be given a chart to take home to track the days that they eat 5 colors of the rainbow over the next week. They will earn $2.00 credit for each day they achieve this. With the credit they earn they will be able to “buy” fun items in our Rainbow store over the following week.
On May 6, I will kick off the challenge with fruit parfaits that will have 5 colors in it and serve these during their lunchtime. Our goal is to make the challenge fun and easy! I have told the students they don’t have to eat a whole apple or a lot of broccoli…..2 bites of a color will be enough!
The 5 colors are:
YELLOW
ORANGE
RED
GREEN
BLUE/PURPLE
Yours,
Connie Dunks
Kindergarten after-school visitation Day coming this May 22
The kindergarten classroom will be having an afternoon visitation day from 4:00 to 6:00 for families who would like to learn more about ECA’s kindergarten program for next year. It is also a chance to visit the classroom and meet the teacher. Children are encouraged to come along and meet our kindergarten teacher. If you have friends or family in the area who have children who are kindergarten age for next year, we encourage you to share this information.
Hot lunch happens every Monday and Wednesday. Additionally, whenever we have a “regular” 1/2 Friday, hot lunch will be offered by our Home & School. You can click on the link below to order hot lunch for the week for your child. If you have more than one child, please click the link more than once and turn in one week’s submission for each child. There is a payment option that is included in the form.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
