Looking Past & Looking Ahead

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

Hello ECA family,

And with a few taps and clicks, we come to our final newsletter for this 2025 school year. The staff and students at ECA want to thank you for making this past school year a time filled with great memories and great moments. Where do we record the many milestones and musings? Is there a book we can write them all down in? This year’s yearbook, the Centurion, gives us a starting place. It also gives us a moment to reflect on all the ways God has led out in our school year. Be sure to ask your child about their yearbook and you can look back through the many great moments of 2025.

Sharing Our School with Our Community

As this year winds down, we are beginning to make plans for a great year next year. The many exciting moments that have helped our school grow over the past few years is a sign of great things to come. We are looking forward to continuing to share quality, Christian values and academics with our community.

We are starting to get phone calls for new families interested in our school. There is a way you can help too. In the past, we have marketed our school with yard signs. If you would like to pick up a yard sign to help with our summer marketing, just stop by the office and Cali can provide you with one until supplies run out.

Additionally, we will be in the community in a couple more ways to share our school. We will have a display booth at our local Lightbearers Campmeeting from June 24-28. We will have a booth at the Springfield Children’s Festival on June 28. We will be at the Creswell Rodeo on July 4. We are also looking for businesses or homes that would be interested in posting banners for our school. We have smaller and larger vinyl banners. Our larger banners are 5x16 feet. If you know of anyone that might be able to help us share our school’s vision, please call the office with information.

We are also starting a social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to start looking and sharing our reels and posts as we start this campaign. Thank you for supporting our school as we continue to trust in God’s direction and seek ways to share a strong educational program and God’s love to families in our Willamette Valley.

Thank You for Supporting Our Music Program

Last Tuesday, ECA had their Spring Music Program. It was so nice to celebrate a fun year by ending it with a special music program. Thank you students for all your hard work and thank you Dr. Vojtko for all your hard work this year. We are excited for a new year filled with great music.

Thursday, June 12 - Cleaning Up for the Year

On Thursday afternoon, students will be cleaning out desks, lockers, and classroom spaces. Please make sure students have a backpack or rugged bag that can be used to take things home. Additionally, if your child has any library or classroom books that need to be returned, please send them to school so book charges can be avoided.

Thursday, June 12 - ECA 8th Grade Class Graduation

ECA holds a graduation ceremony for the 8th grade class every June. All school families are invited to attend. This year’s program will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 12 at the Pleasant Hill SDA Church across from the school. We are proud of the accomplishments of all of our students; however, it is nice to celebrate the accomplishments of our students as they get ready for high school.

Friday, June 13 - 1/2 Day Friday & Last Day of School

ECA’s last day of school will be on Friday, June 13. The day will begin at 8:00 for students. We will have an all-school awards chapel in the gym at 8:30. This final chapel usually runs a little over one hour. Parents are invited. During this time, school and classroom awards are handed out. Students are recognized for many different things. Additionally, the school also recognizes student achievement with scholarships for the upcoming year. This year, ECA is giving out over $7,000 in awards and scholarships that can be used to help with next year’s tuition.

The day will end at 12:30. There will be NO after-school program on that last 1/2 Friday. There will also be NO hot lunch on that last day.

Final Quarter Report Cards

Even though school ends this Friday, teachers will be at school for part of next week. Report cards will be finalized and mailed out by next Friday, June 20.

Summer at ECA

This summer will be filled with many activities that you will not want to miss out on! You can check our school calendar for more events and details. Here are some things to plan for:

ECA Summer Campout

On Saturday, August 2, we will be having a one-night campout on the school campus during the middle of summer. If you would like to come and join us for the late afternoon, stay Saturday night, and then return home on Sunday, you are invited. Campers, trailers, tents are all welcome. If you would like to just bring a sleeping bag and sleep in the gym, that is ok too. The campout will start at 4:00, go through the evening with games and activities, and the following morning, we will have a school-provided pancake breakfast for everyone. If you have friends that you would like to invite, they are also invited! Our hope is to stay connected this summer.

This is a family event, so we ask that students coming please arrive with their families. Families are responsible for the supervision and care of their children.

Final Monday AG Class this Week

Tomorrow, we will be having our final Monday AG class. It will be grades 1-2.

Hot lunch happens every Monday and Wednesday. Additionally, whenever we have a “regular” 1/2 Friday, hot lunch will be offered by our Home & School. You can click on the link below to order hot lunch for the week for your child. If you have more than one child, please click the link more than once and turn in one week’s submission for each child. There is a payment option that is included in the form.

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
