Victory!
At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.
A Reason to Celebrate!
For those of you who have been following the winter Olympics, tonight marks the closing of the games. For the past two weeks, we have seen individual, group, and team victories. Perhaps you have been following an athlete or event. For USA hockey lovers, this especially has been a memorable Olympics. Both men’s and women’s teams won 2-1 in overtime. This has never happened before.
There is so much joy in celebrations. When we cheer and win, the feelings we share are incredible. Some of my favorite stories and movies have those “storybook endings.” In a similar fashion, as parents and teachers, we root for our students’ success. When students set goals, work hard, overcome obstacles, and accomplish big things, we have a reason to celebrate! Thank you for encouraging your children and teaming up with us as a school to support our students and to help them have a reason for celebration!
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” - Romans 8:31
Front Office - Progress
We are making progress on filling our front-office position. As we continue this process, there will still be hours in the middle of the day when the office is empty. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
The principal will be in the office during the first 15 minutes of every day, from 12:30-12:50, and during the last hour of the day.
The RING doorbell and office door cam are both tied to the principal’s phone. By ringing the center RING doorbell, you will reach the principal’s phone if you need assistance throughout the day.
No School TOMORROW, Monday, February 23
Our school teachers need opportunities to grow professionally throughout the year. The Oregon Conference sets aside four professional growth days per year. Our winter professional growth day (PLC) is tomorrow, Monday, February 23. We will have a 1/2 day core classes makeup day this Friday, February 27. There will be a pizza hot lunch this Friday, but there will be no Friday after-school. Pickup will be at 12:30. Our only Friday after-school days are our scheduled Chapel Days (usually the second Friday of each month.)
AG Program - Monday’s Science Class
Since there is no school tomorrow, Monday February 23, the Monday AG program will be in one week for grades K-2. Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Boots and gloves are great things for working outdoors on Monday Science Days. Water bottles are great things to have outside too. Here is a schedule of the days and classes:
Monday, March 2 - Grades K-2
Monday, March 9 - Grades 7&8
Monday, March 16 - Grades 5&6
K-4 Swimming Lessons Will Begin in two weeks.
During the weeks of March 9-12 and March 16-19, students in grades K-4 will have swim lessons at the Willamalane Swim Center on Mohawk Boulevard in Springfield. The swim times M-Th will be from 10:35-11:35. Parents are welcome to come and watch children. Students should plan on bringing a swim suit and towel for each day in a swim bag.
We will be leaving school at 10:00 and taking the bus each day. There is no extra charge for these lessons. It is included in your child’s tuition.
Our 100th Day of School is the Wednesday!
Students in grades K-2 will be celebrating the 100th day of school this Wednesday. Students will be doing many different activities that focus on 100! We are looking forward to a fun day!

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
