Construction Ahead

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

A Change in Our Front Office

All of us experience change in different ways. Schools are not immune to changes. As we start this month of February, we are sad to share the news that Cali, in our front office, has transitioned into a full-time position away from ECA. While we are excited for new opportunities for her, we recognize her experience, commitment, love, and organization that she has shared with our school families, staff, and students will be difficult shoes to fill. She will continue to assist us as a business manager for the rest of this year, but this will not be during normal school hours.

Because of this, our school will be experiencing a few bumps in the road in the upcoming weeks as we work to find the right person to work in our front office. Front office staffing will be limited and hours will be affected. Mr. Gaylor, the principal, will be in the office during lunch time from 12:30-1:00 and from 3:00-4:00 at the end of each day. In the morning, Mr. Gaylor will be in the office after student check-in until 8:15. If you arrive later than that, or need personal assistance, you can ring the front doorbell on the central doors and Mr. Gaylor will be paged via cell phone. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Communication with the school is best by sending email messages to office@emeraldchristianacademy.com. Phone calls during unstaffed times will go to voicemail and checked daily.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28

MAP Testing This Week

We will have our winter MAP testing this week. Students in grades K-4 will have testing from 8:15 - 10:00 each morning. Students in grades 5-8 will have testing from 10:30-12:30 each day. There are three testing days. These winter test results will be shared in our report cards that will go out the second week of February.

ECA Winter Jog-a-thon - Thank you for your support

Last week, our jog-a-thon was a hit. Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to help make the day a success. Thank you also to the sponsors and donors of the event. If there are folders with collected funds that still need to be turned in, please have your child bring them to their homeroom teacher this week.

8th Grade Class Fundraiser - Valentines at ECA

If you would like to support our 8th grade class, ask your student about the ECA Valentines packet that was sent out in late January.

How do we get the word out about Visitation Day?

Thanks for following us on Facebook and Instagram. Click on those likes, follows, and shares. We have paper flyers that can help spread the word too. If you would like a few flyers to pass out in the community, just stop by the office.

AG Program - Monday’s Science Class - It’s a REDO!

This week’s AG program is for grades 5&6. Last week, Mr. Wyatt was sick, so AG was postponed one week. Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Boots and gloves are great things for working outdoors on Monday Science Days. Water bottles are great things to have outside too. Here is a schedule of the days and classes:

Monday, February 2 - Grades 5&6

Monday, February 9 - Grades 3&4

Monday, March 2 - Grades K-2

Hot Lunch for the Month

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
